Experience a Taste of Adventure through National Camping and Caravanning Week 2007

Campers and motorhomers from eight to 80 will be getting a taste for the outdoor lifestyle during National Camping and Caravanning Week, taking place this year from 26 May to 1 June.

The event will span the Camping and Caravanning Club's network of over 100 award-winning Club Sites, as well as over 1,260 Certificated Sites, and will give members the opportunity to take part in national competitions, events and activities. Campers old and new will be encouraged to get active, get involved with the local area and enjoy the adventures that nature has to offer.

Two large scale events are planned at UK Club Sites. The first, at Sandringham Club Site, will encourage the public to explore local Britain. From local food through to historical sights, this event will highlight not only the opportunities available in local areas, but also the benefits brought to the local economy.

Club President David Bellamy will be joining in the fun by opening the event, as well as taking part in the activities. A farmers market on-site, sponsored by Clarion Events, will give campers the opportunity to buy local delicacies from cheese to meat and much more! The evening will be filled with song during on-site entertainment.

The second event, based at Keswick, will be revealing some of the adventures that camping, caravanning and motorhoming can facilitate. On-site activities will include archery and games, as well as locally sourced food and drink.

Using the stunning mountainous backdrop, the Keswick site is a hive of activity for those looking for an adventure, whether this is paragliding, canoeing or simply enjoying the breathtaking views available whilst walking around the area. The site will again be lit up by entertainment at night.

Nev Ramsbottom, The Camping and Caravanning Club Chairman, says: "There really is no better way to enjoy the outdoors than by camping, caravanning and motorhoming. It is low cost, fantastic fun and gives you a chance to discover the delights that this country has to offer. NCCW is the perfect opportunity to give it a try and see why our 400,000 members have been bitten by 'Camping Fever'."
